Alexander K. Beg earned his B.A. from the University of Miami and both his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Having studied in Shanghai and being proficient in Mandarin Chinese and Swedish, Mr. Beg offers a unique global perspective. Prior to law school, Mr. Beg managed his family-owned hospitality business in Sarasota, providing him with a practical understanding of the challenges facing small business owners.
Mr. Beg’s current practice focuses on complex civil litigation, including corporate disputes, construction law, and real estate litigation. Additionally, Mr. Beg maintains specialized expertise in the niche field of Animal Law, including sophisticated pet trusts, service animal and Emotional Support Animal (ESA) regulations, animal-related liability, and Florida’s rapidly evolving regulatory landscape (e.g., the Pam Rock Act and Dexter’s Law). A passionate amateur dog trainer, he has spent many years working with a local pet shelter and sanctuary in Sarasota, giving him hands-on insight into animal behavior and welfare.
A former Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Beg represented Florida state agencies and officials in high-stakes federal and state litigation, defended constitutional challenges to state laws, and handled various civil matters such as employment discrimination cases and administrative proceedings. Mr. Beg is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
